Ciudad Quesada is located on the Costa Blanca South just 12 kilometers north from the major town of Torrevieja. Ciudad Quesada is an unusual town because it really didn’t exist until the early 1970’s when a Spanish entrepreneur called Justo Quesada Samper decided to start his own town. The urbanisation grew quickly with its ideal location near the salt lakes for health benefits and only 5 km from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Guardamar del Segura. Parts of Quesada are built on a hill with steep roads and pavements; therefore, certain parts of the town may be difficult for people with mobility problems. However, this also provides some amazing views, the countryside surrounding Ciudad Quesada includes orange groves and the salt lakes of La Mata, further out you have views over the mountains. Ciudad Quesada has lots of urbanisations within the town. Doña Pepa is known for low density housing, nice communities built around communal swimming pools and independent large, detached villas. Other urbanisations include Pueblo Bravo, which has recently seen a wave of new developments and a supermarket added; Pueblo Lucero at the back of Quesada is seeing some luxury new developments with sea views and fantastic modern architecture. These different areas all have different characteristics and their own commercial areas, giving you plenty of choice for a good night out within walking distance of your property.
The area of Ciudad Quesada includes El Recorral Natural Park which is great for walking, enjoying the wildlife and having barbeques. The aquapark is great fun, value for money and worth a visit. Ciudad Quesada has its very own golf course called La Marquesa, this is situated in a valley between mountains. The 18-hole golf course It is not excessively difficult and so players of all levels will enjoy playing at La Marquesa golf club. The round is bordered by streams and lakes, which gives the course excellent views and provides beautiful natural surroundings. Ciudad Quesada is a popular place where many people live all the whole year round, it has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The amazing beaches of Guardamar are only 10 minutes away and are some of the finest in Spain. Zenia Boulevard, the largest shopping centre in the Valencian Province is only 20 minutes away and offers occasional retail therapy.
