The Costa Blanca is a true golfing haven offering the best year round climate in Europe and a great variety of fantastic golf courses.
At La Finca Golf and Spa Resort you are situated in a perfect, central location to access every course in the area. A La Finca resident has a championship course on the doorstep and is also within 20 minutes of 6 other courses and within 45 minutes of another 10 venues. From the expansive modern designs of La Finca and Las Colinas to the narrow, tree-lined fairways of Las Ramblas and Villamartin to the, there is a variety of challenges to excite the most discerning of golfers.
La Finca is an excellent but fair test of golf for players of all abilities. While it boasts fairly generous fairways lined by Olive trees, you will negotiate well placed bunkers, water and elevation changes. Your short game will also be tested by large USGA style greens that allow for an array of great pin positions. The course offers spectacular views across the Vega Baja countryside and the surrounding mountains so even if you have a bad hole or two, you will find it tough to stay upset for too long.
Villamartin is a former European Tour venue and is a well established course in this area and remains very popular amongst locals. Another of the courses in the La Finca family, it again places accuracy at a premium. If you can keep the ball in play off the tee, you will have a good round at Villamartin. The par 5s and short par 4s offer great chances while the long par 3 holes must be negotiated to keep the card going. The newly refurbished clubhouse enjoys great views over the 18th where you can sip your cold beer while watching your friends try and beat your 42 points!
Las Ramblas is one of La Finca´s sister courses. Whether it's the ugly one or the pretty one depends on how you play! It is an old style course that demands accuracy and good strategy. With tight fairways, sharp doglegs and an array of obstacles lurking, you have to have your brain in gear to play this great little course. Not long by modern standards but will provide a great test for any golfer. While most will run into some trouble at some point during the day, there are lots of great opportunities to make birdie so hopefully you will leave with some good memories to tell your friends about.
Las Colinas has been ranked in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Europe and plays host to Stage 2 of The European Tour Qualifying School. It is a modern design measuring well over 7000 yards off the black tees while from the yellow tees it plays at a more comfortable 6500 yards. Featuring several short tricky par four holes, a delicate 120 yard par three and the tough par five 11th in excess of 600 yards it has something for everyone. The signature 18th hole, a par five with water running up the right side to the green finishes in front of the clubhouse where the rest of your group can watch you make a birdie to win the pot!
A host to various prestigious events, including the Ladies European access Tour, Font del Llop offers spectacular views across the valley and has a great golf course to match. While the straight forward opening par 4 eases you in, hole 2 is one of the best holes on the Costa Blanca: A dog-leg par four that winds downhill to the right to a two-tier green protected by water. Elevation changes, water and tricky greens make this course a thoroughly enjoyable challenge. Don´t miss out on this hidden gem.
Described as an Oasis in the City, Alicante Golf is a beautiful course in the residential area of San Juan, just 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from Alicante City. Designed by the late Seve Ballesteros, the course has the unusual set-up of six par-three holes, six par-four holes and six par-fives. With fairways lined by thousands of trees and several large lakes coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes, Alicante Golf offers a challenge while presenting many birdie chances. With generous fairways and excellent greens, Alicante really is an enjoyable golf course for players of all abilities.
